2) Second-Term General Chemistry Online Tutorial

This practice exam is designed for the second-term ACS General Chemistry Exam and will act as a tutorial providing feedback integrated into each question based on response. Students looking to purchase this practice exam should be careful to make sure their instructor is using an ACS Exam from some time in the past 10 years. If the exam is from before then, the use of this practice exam may not be as effective.

Your practice exam will provide you feedback on each question. You will be told whether you answered the question correctly, then you will be provided with the process to solve the question correctly (for you to compare to how you solve the problem), and, if the question was answered incorrectly, where you might have had difficulties.

All of this will be summarized for you in a report you will get upon submitting your practice exam. For each question, this summary will include:

• Your performance on the question
• The relevant chapter and content from the ACS General Chemistry Study Guide
• The relevant chapter and question number from the study guide, listing items that use the same wording as the question
• The relevant chapter and question number from the study guide, listing items that are similar or use the same concept as the question

You will receive this report via email for your continued use as you study and prepare for your ACS exam.

3) Timed Online Second-Term General Chemistry Practice Exam

This practice exam is designed for the second-term ACS General Chemistry Exam. Students looking to purchase this practice exam should be careful to make sure their instructor is using an ACS Exam from some time in the past 10 years. If the exam is from before then, the use of this practice exam may not be as effective.

For the most helpful experience, students should take this as though they are sitting an actual exam: in a quiet environment, with scratch paper, and without using previous notes.

The exam includes a timer to simulate a timed-test environment; however, this is simply to get a feel for the amount of time offered during an actual ACS exam, and this practice exam will not automatically close once the maximum time is reached.

In addition to answering the questions, the student is asked to estimate the amount of mental effort they used to answer that question. Once the practice exam is completed, a report will provide information about how accurately questions were answered based on content area, and how the various topics rate in terms of challenge as measured by the mental effort estimation. This combination can help students set priorities for continued study prior to taking the actual ACS exam.

The content areas in the report will align with chapters in the ACS General Chemistry Study Guide, so referencing the study guide following the practice exam will be beneficial in practicing as much as possible.
